GUIDELINES FOR THE “BEST IN ENGLISH” CONTEST Organized for Civil Employees of the Aviation Industry
  1. Purpose

The primary objective of the "Best in English" contest is to significantly enhance the English language proficiency and teamwork skills of employees within the Civil Aviation sector, aligning with the Mongolian government’s 2023-2025 “Years to Visit Mongolia” campaign and the mid-term strategic plan of the Civil Aviation sector, known as “SEAMLESS AVIATION-2030.” Additionally, the contest aims to foster a heightened interest in learning English, assess the current application of the English language within the aviation sector, and evaluate the proficiency of the participants.

  1. Organizer

The contest is organized by the Aviation Training Center.

  1. Scope

The contest is open exclusively to all employees of the Civil Aviation Authority and National Civil Aviation Center.

  1. Date and Venue

The "Best in English" contest is scheduled to take place on November 22, 2024, from 10 AM to 4 PM, and will be hosted at the esteemed Buyaant-Ukhaa International Airport Conference Hall.

  1. Awards and Prizes

Teams participating in the contest will be rigorously evaluated and ranked based on their cumulative scores across all stages of the competition. Notably, the top three teams will be awarded with certificates, substantial cash prizes, and accolades from the co-organizing institutions.

  1. Team Requirements

To participate, each team must adhere to the following criteria:

- Consist of 6 members

- Possess a unique and distinguishing feature

- Comprise solely of employees from their respective organizations

- Include a minimum of 6 cheerleaders as part of the team

  1. Competition Rules

The contest strictly adheres to the following rules:

- Once registered, no changes or replacements to team members are permitted

- Each stage of the competition must be completed within the allocated time

- Cheerleaders are expected to maintain discipline, refrain from providing assistance to team members during the competition, and demonstrate respect towards other teams.

- Technical conference will be held prior to the completion.

  1. Judging Panel

The esteemed judging panel and hosts will be carefully selected from external organizations. They will meticulously evaluate each performance, assign points after every stage, and ultimately provide a final cumulative score.

  1. Evaluation

The competition will be scored according to specific guidelines at each stage, with a maximum score of 10 points per stage. Furthermore, additional points will be awarded for participation, punctuality, team discipline, and attire, with the potential of garnering up to 5 bonus points.

  1. Competition Tasks and Rounds:

The contest comprises the following engaging rounds :

Round 1 – Greetings

Round 2 – Captain’s Challenge

Round 3 – Who Am I, Where Am I, What Am I?

Round 4 - Word Chain

Round 5 - Check Your Grammar

Round 6 - Your Face Sounds Familiar

Cheerleader Activity: Fan competition/Spelling Bee

  1. Competition Report

The comprehensive competition report must be submitted to the management within five working days following the conclusion of the contest.

Note: All team applications must be submitted by November 15, 2024, to the designated email address oyunbileg.t@mcaa.gov.mn, and should include the full names and roles of each team member.
